Around the World
Today, the 4th and 5th graders presented their "Around the World" Projects. In the 4th and 5th grade, cultural awareness and appreciation are emphasized, as well as cultural diversity being deeply embedded in our national and global history. With that said, 4th and 5th graders researched and presented to the class facts about a chosen country, including how some countries celebrate the holiday season!
Presentations were concluded with a Cultural Appreciation Feast, in which many students brought dishes and desserts specific to their country researched.
We all benefited from the diversity presented to us in both scholarship and cuisine! We concluded our school week, for some ushering in vacation, enlightened as to what other countries are like and possessing a deeper appreciation of (and for!) cultural diversity!
